Scott Campitelli Memorial Scholarship
Scott Campitelli was the long-time Executive Director of Media Factory co-founding organization RETN, and spent his entire career in the greater Burlington area as an educator and media professional.
This scholarship was created to honor Scott's deep passion for community media, lifelong learning, and free speech. It is offered to any Vermont High School Senior who is pursuing an education in radio, television, broadcasting, or film.
The ideal candidate will represent the qualities that Scott exhibited in his daily life: a commitment to community, a love of story, and a strong belief that all communities need to have access to accurate and unfiltered information.
Eligibility
- Reside in Vermont
- Graduating from high school or receiving a GED by June 2025
- Seek secondary education in communications, media, or related field
- Demonstrate school/community involvement
- Demonstrate academic achievement
Required Documents
- Application
- Personal essay
- Short video or audio submission of your work
- Official transcript
- Two letters of recommendation (non-relative and one focused on community involvement)
Amount: One scholarship up to $2,000
Application Deadline: TBD 2025. This is a VSAC-assisted scholarship. Application instructions are available on the VSAC website.
Award: TBD 2025
This scholarship may not be used to offset a student's financial aid award.
