In the late 90s, Cherie & Yolanda LIVE! was a staple of Vermont cable access—a literal variety show, featuring guest interviews, musical performances, live telephone calls from viewers, poetry readings, and performance art, all filtered through the bawdy and burlesque charisma of hostesses Cherie Tartt (Steven West) and Reverend Yolanda (Yolanda Roger Anthony Mapes).

The guest list was a who’s who of Burlington’s music and theater scenes, and the show celebrated and supported the social justice work of the city’s queer-positive individuals and organizations. The show aired from 1998 to 2001, including the hostile years of the Vermont civil unions debate. 

The Center for Research on Vermont (CRVT) is an interdisciplinary network of scholars and community members who celebrate Vermont research, foster collaborations and engage college students in Vermont research.

Since 1995, RETN and CRVT have partnered to record and share over 200 presentations of original work by scholars in the fields of agriculture, anthropology, archeology, economics, English, environmental studies, history, politics, science and more. This collection is now available digitally and on-demand.

Rik Palieri's The Songwriter's Notebook is a treasure trove of music and stories that spans genres, styles, places and moments in time. Archived at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, The Songwriter's Notebook features folk legends such as Pete Seeger and Utah Phillips, traditional music ensembles such as Spirit Wing and Inca Sapi, local Vermont musical artists such as Paul Asbel and Steve Hartmann, and so many others.

The Waters Chair was a distinguished lecture and events series presented by Trinity College in the 1980s and 1990s. Guest speakers included Robert Thurman, Kenzaburo Oe, Edward James Olmos, Robert Jay Lifton, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, and many others.
