Media Factory Production Services Coordinator (1 FTE, non-exempt)
40 hours a week, reports to Media Factory Production Services Director

Description:
The Media Factory Production Services Coordinator works directly with the Media Factory Production Services Director, and other production personnel to record and deliver high quality video productions and support the needs of Media Factory Community Producers. They schedule and coordinate studio production shifts, community municipal meetings and events, as well as direct, shoot, edit, and help coordinate fee-for-service projects, as assigned. They also take the lead on the maintenance of Media Factory municipal equipment (mobile field kits) and field production facilities (location installations) to support field producers and enhance community engagement. They lead efforts to assess, innovate, and document all field installations to improve usability. The position requires a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, technical video production skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with others in dynamic situations. This person has a strong commitment to the field of community media and to the principles of Free Speech.
Responsibilities:
- Build, distribute, and maintain accurate monthly production department staffing schedules for field and studio shifts with support from the Production Services Director
- Act as the first point of contact for municipalities and school districts around scheduling
- Oversee preparation for and departure of municipal field crews and equipment
- Act as primary remote support for municipal field crews as needed

Media Factory Media Facilities Manager (1 FTE, non-exempt)
40 hours a week, reports to Media Factory Production Services Director

Description:
The Media Facilities Manager takes the lead on the design and management of Media Factory Public Access production facilities (TV & radio studios, control room, recording spaces, edit suites, public equipment room, and digital media storage) to support use by Media Factory community producers and for Media Factory in-house and fee-for-service productions. They act as a project manager to lead efforts to assess, innovate, and document all in-house installations to improve usability. They also facilitate collaboration among production staff on studio purchases and installations, and lead training efforts. This person has a strong commitment to the field of community media and to the principles of Free Speech.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee maintenance of TV studio, radio studio, and recording spaces, public edit suites, public equipment room and public equipment reservation system with support from other production department staff.
- Work with leadership and production department staff to identify capital equipment expenditures in support of studio installations, internal gear, and public access activities
- Take the lead, with support from leadership and production department staff, to conduct an annual audit of public access related equipment and facilities
- Play a leading role in training production technicians and work with the production team to identify additional training needs
- With support from the Production Services Director - implement and enforce Media Factory member policies and procedures including managing member violations, suspensions and appeals, as well as producer project proposal approvals

MEDIA FACTORY 360 INTERNSHIP
Media Factory invites people interested in the media industry to apply for our Media Factory 360 Internship Program. The 8 week paid internship introduces those interested in a career in media to a full-circle view of the jobs that make a community media center operate, while also completing a personal portfolio project.
What to Expect:
- Weekly meetings with the internship team (Tuesday 11am-1pm).
- A rotation through production, education, marketing, and distribution departments to shadow, support, and learn. This may include:
- A shift working with a Production Technician to support community producers.
- The opportunity to assist on a production team in the field.
- Assisting the education staff to conduct a workshop.
- Creating a blog post or social media campaign.
- Learning about equipment repair and maintenance.
- Interviewing a radio programmer.
- Creating a playlist of curated content for the website.
- Additional time with staff in the department of your interest.
- Time to work independently on your own project.
Time and Compensation:
10 hours per week for 8 weeks at $15/hr
