Providing young media makers the opportunity, tools, and support to tell their stories is a critical part of why we come to work each day.

Here at the Media Factory a commitment to learning is one of our guiding principles, and providing young media makers the opportunity, tools, and support to tell their stories is a critical part of why we come to work each day. Your on-going support has helped us empower the next generation of storytellers with skills that enhance their ability to creatively express ideas, encourage critical thinking, and engage their communities.

You are part of the community of people that powers the Media Factory and your financial contribution is essential to forging future media makers like 2022 Scott Campitelli Scholarship winner OJ Daring. OJ first worked with us as part of our Film Club (a collaboration with the Burlington Tech Center) - he is now a sophomore at Champlain college and producing a new film project utilizing Media Factory's production resources.

Donations in particular this past year have helped us:

  • Pilot a paid 360° Video Internship program and secure grant funding from the VT Department of Labor to continue the program into 2024  - removing financial barriers to career exploration (so far two participants have joined our staff!)

  • Subsidize video production and work-readiness training for blind and
    visually impaired students, in partnership with Vermont Story Lab and the LEAP Program

  • Build our scholarship endowment and award a $2000 scholarship to a Vermont high school senior with plans to study cinema and photography
    in college

  • Provide video production services for Vermont Youth Orchestra concerts and live-streaming of the Vermont Young Playwright’s Festival
